How do I log a meal from my plan?

On the Home tab, scroll to Track Your Meals to see today's planned meals. Tap the round + button on a meal card to log it — the card gets a green check and the meal counts toward your daily totals right away. You can also open Quick Add (the + button in the bottom bar) and tap any meal under Today's Plan to log it in one tap.

How do I log something that wasn't on my plan?

Tap the + button in the bottom navigation bar to open Quick Add, then choose Additional Meal. Type what you ate (for example, 'Paneer tikka & 2 rotis'), set the quantity, and pick how to log it: Estimate with AI for an instant nutrition estimate (a Pro feature), Enter macros to type the numbers yourself, or Log without macros if you just want it recorded. It will appear on your Home tab as its own card marked EXTRA.

Can I log a meal by taking a photo?

Yes. Open Quick Add and choose Camera Log, then snap your plate or pick a photo from your gallery. You can choose which meal slot to log it as and add an optional note (like 'half portion'). The AI identifies the food and logs it with its calories and macros. Camera Log is available with whattoBite Pro.

Can I log a meal using my voice?

Yes. Open Quick Add and choose Voice Log, then tap the microphone and simply say what you ate. whattoBite transcribes your words and works out the nutrition, then shows you what it heard with the estimated macros so you can confirm and log it. Voice Log is available with whattoBite Pro, and you'll need to allow microphone access the first time.

How do I swap a meal I don't feel like eating?

On the Home tab, tap the swap icon (two arrows) on any meal you haven't logged yet. whattoBite suggests a replacement that still fits your goals — tap 'Love it — swap it in' to accept, or 'Not for me' to tell it what you're craving instead, using quick options like Higher protein or Fewer calories, or your own words.

How many meal swaps do I get?

On the free plan you get 3 swaps per diet plan. With whattoBite Pro, swaps are unlimited, with a generous daily cap to keep things fair for everyone — if you ever hit it, it resets the next day.

How do I undo a meal I logged by mistake?

Accepted Answer

On the Home tab, find the logged meal (it shows a green check) and tap the trash icon on its card — the log is removed instantly and your daily totals update. Extra meals you added through Quick Add can be removed the same way. If you logged the wrong details, just remove the log and log the meal again with the correct information.

How do I track my water intake?

Accepted Answer

The Water card on your Home tab makes hydration a one-tap habit: tap the glass or the + button to add 250 ml, and use the undo button if you tapped one too many. Your daily goal is personalised to your bodyweight (about 35 ml per kilo; if we don't know your weight it defaults to 2.5 litres), and the glass fills up as you drink through the day.

Where can I see the full nutrition breakdown of a meal?

Every meal card on the Home tab shows its calories, protein, carbs, and fat at a glance. Tap the card (or 'view details') to open the full meal page with the complete breakdown and ingredient list. You can expand individual ingredients to see how much each one contributes — the exact per-ingredient numbers are unlocked with whattoBite Pro.

Can I log meals straight from my phone's home screen?

Yes, on Android. Long-press your home screen, choose Widgets, and add the whattoBite 'Log a Meal' widget. It shows the meal you should be eating right now and logs it with a single tap — resize it larger to see your whole day with a calorie progress bar. An iPhone widget isn't available yet.

Question 11

I ate something different from what was planned — how do I log that?

Accepted Answer

Tap the 'something else' button on the meal card and tell whattoBite what you actually had. It logs your real meal in that slot with its own name and nutrition, so your day's totals stay accurate. Foods you log with their calories also show up under Recent Foods in Quick Add, where you can star your favourites and re-log them with one tap.
