How much does the Family plan cost?

The Family plan is Rs 249 per month, or Rs 1,999 per year (labelled 'Save 33%'). For comparison, four separate Pro subscriptions would cost Rs 516 per month, so Family is designed to be the better deal for households. You can buy it from the Family screen by choosing monthly or yearly and tapping Get the Family Plan.

What is the difference between inviting a member and adding a managed profile?

When you tap Add a member, you choose between two options. If they have their own phone and whattoBite account, pick 'They have an account' and invite them by email — they get notified and join with their own login. If they don't have an account (like kids or grandparents), pick 'No account — I'll manage them' and set up their profile yourself; you'll manage their plans and meals from your device.

How do I invite a family member?

Open Family, go to the Manage tab, tap Add a member, choose 'They have an account', and enter their email and relationship. They'll get a notification and an email, and you can also share the invite link over WhatsApp. To keep things secure, the invite only works for the exact email you entered, and they'll need to type in your family code to accept — so share the code with them too.

How do I join a family I've been invited to?

Sign in with the email address the invite was sent to, then open Family — you'll see the invitation banner, or you can choose Join. Your invitation card will appear: enter the family code the owner shared with you (the Accept button stays disabled until you do) and tap Accept. If you don't see a card, you can type the family code directly instead, as long as you're signed in with the invited email.

What is Family Sync and how often can we use it?

Family Sync plans the whole family's week from one kitchen. The Cook's plan is created first, and everyone else's week reuses the same main dishes with their own portion sizes and personal snacks — any dish that conflicts with someone's allergies or diet is swapped just for them. Your family shares a monthly pool of 4 automatic syncs (which run on Sundays), 4 manual syncs (the Sync Now button), and 6 individual plan regenerations. You can see what's left on the meters on the Family Card.

Can my family see what I eat and my progress?

Only if you choose to share. Progress sharing is off by default — turn on 'Share my progress with the family' in Family > Manage > My preferences whenever you're ready. Until then, your card shows as Private and your meals don't appear in Family activity. Managed profiles (members you set up yourself) are always visible, since you manage them.

Who can log meals for other family members?

The family owner can always log meals for everyone. Other members need permission first: the owner opens Family > Manage > Meal-logging permissions and switches on who can log for whom. Once permitted, you'll see a Log button next to that person in the Activity tab, and you can log directly from their dashboard too — the meal counts towards them, not you.

How do I check on a family member's day?

On the Family home screen, swipe through Today's Progress and tap a member's card. You'll see their full dashboard — the same progress ring and meal cards you have — with a banner reminding you whose day you're viewing. If you have logging permission, anything you log there is recorded for them; otherwise it's view-only.

Who is the Cook, and can I change it?

The Cook (marked with a star) is the person whose plan anchors Family Sync — the household menu is built around what they'll be cooking. The owner can change it anytime: go to Family > Manage, tap a member, and choose 'Set as cook (makes the food)'.

How do I remove a member or leave a family?

Accepted Answer

Owners can remove someone from Family > Manage by tapping the member and choosing Remove — they lose the family plan, but their account and all their data stay theirs. If you're a member, you can leave from the same screen with the 'Leave this family' button. Nothing about your personal history is deleted either way.

What happens if I delete my family?

Deleting the family (Family > Manage > Delete family, owner only) disbands it and removes all other members. Everyone keeps their own account and data, but they go back to the Free plan. Your subscription stays active, so you can create a new family anytime.

What is the Daily Cook Card and who can generate it?

The Daily Cook Card is a one-page kitchen brief for whoever cooks at home: every family member's dishes for the day with per-person portions in grams, allergy warnings, veg/non-veg tags, and combined kitchen totals. Open it from the Family screen (Daily Cook Card) or the Cook Card button on the Home tab, and flip between Today and Tomorrow. The main way to share it is the live Cook Link (see the next question); you can also send it as a PDF or a WhatsApp-ready text. The family owner, the Cook, and any member with meal-logging permission see the whole household's card; everyone else (and solo users) get a card with just their own meals. It's a Pro feature — free users can see the button but need to upgrade to open the card.

How does the Cook Link work? Does my cook need the app?

No app needed. Tap Share Cook Link on the Cook Card screen and send the link to your cook once, on WhatsApp or anywhere. Opening it shows a live web page with today's full menu — dishes, per-person portions and allergy warnings — plus a Tomorrow tab for advance prep and a Print button. The page always renders the latest plan, so meal swaps and plan changes appear automatically; your cook just reopens (or refreshes) the same link every morning, forever. In the app you can see whether the link has been opened, copy it again, replace it with a new one (the old link stops working — useful if your cook changes), or turn it off entirely. The link only ever shows one day at a time and works only while your subscription is active.

Can the Cook Card be prepared automatically every morning?

Yes. The first time you open a Cook Card, the app asks if you'd like it prepared automatically — say yes and you'll get a notification at 7:00 AM every day. Your cook's live link updates on its own; the morning ping is your moment to review the day's menu or send the PDF. You can turn it on or off anytime from Profile > Notifications > Daily Cook Card. The reminder is scheduled on your phone, so it works without the app running, but it does need notification permission.
